EverWind Fuels raises a quarter million for Caleb’s Courage and critically ill children in Cape Breton

Today, EverWind Fuels presented a cheque to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation and Caleb’s Courage for $254,873.86. This is the largest gift Caleb’s Courage has received in its history.

The more than quarter-million-dollar fundraising total came from the corporation’s 10th annual auction and golf tournament, held at Bell Bay Golf Club in August 2023. The tournament saw teams from all over North America and raised its largest fundraising total to-date.

For the fourth year in a row, proceeds from the EverWind Fuels fundraiser were directed to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, specifically earmarked for Caleb’s Courage and critically ill children in Cape Breton.

“It was a privilege to be invited back to this remarkable fundraiser as charity of choice,” says Nicole Forgeron-MacArthur, Caleb’s mom. “We are deeply moved by EverWind’s continued commitment to Caleb’s Courage. With immense joy, pride, and gratitude, we accept their substantial donation, knowing it will make a profound impact in the lives of our little superheroes and their families. An event of this magnitude takes extensive time, effort, and resources. We appreciate the dedication of EverWind’s event committee and all those who contributed to this super successful fundraiser!”

With this year’s record-breaking total, EverWind Fuels has now donated $675,600 to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation, supporting the areas of cancer care and Caleb’s Courage.

“We are incredibly proud of our employees at EverWind who have worked hard over the past 10 years to raise over $1 million for local charities that focus on supporting vulnerable and sick children,” says Adam Langer, director of public affairs, EverWind Fuels. “EverWind is committed to making a positive difference in our communities. We are honoured to be able to support the work of the Foundation and Caleb’s Courage with this year’s tournament proceeds.”

Caleb’s Courage celebrates the life, love, and legacy of Caleb William MacArthur, and has a mission to support the “little superheroes fighting BIG battles,” in Cape Breton. Fully donor funded, Caleb’s Courage works with the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation to provide support for critically ill children and their families to enhance the services, programs, and facilities for Pediatric Advanced Care in Cape Breton.
