Volunteer
You have the power to make a real difference in Cape Breton’s health care community by volunteering with the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation.
Becoming a volunteer isn’t just about giving back to your community. It’s also about learning new skills, making lifelong friends and being a part of something greater than yourself.
Each year, our Foundation relies on the generosity, time, and skills of more than 375 volunteers. From staffing a barbeque, refereeing a hockey game, selling tickets, providing first-aid support, to answering phones, sitting on committees, or providing office assistance, as a volunteer with our Foundation, your impact is vast.
Along with being connected to an incredible community, as a volunteer, you’ll receive training and guidance relevant to your volunteer work, an official volunteer certificate, and references upon request. Some of the skills you can develop by volunteering with our Foundation include teamwork and collaboration; customer service; public and interpersonal communication; hospitality; organizational skills, and more.
If you would like to apply to volunteer with the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation, please contact Máire Neville at 902-567-2772 or maire.neville@nshealth.ca.
I volunteer with the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation so I can give back to my community. I work at the Cape Breton Cancer Centre so I see first-hand how important their fundraisers are. I get to meet and give my time and energy to a diverse group of people by volunteering
