18th Annual Festival of the Greens Raises More than $100,000.
On Saturday, November 26, the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation celebrated the 18th annual Festival of the Greens, presented by Cape Breton Beverages. The holiday gala raised $111,478 in support of health care on the island.
Taking place at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre, Festival of the Greens featured Fiona MacGillivray as the emcee and entertainer, along with other musical guests to include Kimberly Fraser and Aaron Lewis, accompanied by Forrester Dancers, and Pretty Archie, who closed out the evening.
Funds were raised via the Foundation’s silent auction, and the coveted live auction, which was hosted by Alfie MacLeod. All funds directly support the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation and priority health care needs of the more than 600,000 annual patient-visits made to the Regional Hospital.
“Events and fundraisers such as Festival of the Greens are not possible without the support of our wonderful community partners,” says Paula MacNeil, the Foundation’s CEO. “Cape Breton Beverages has been the presenting partner of the gala for 14 years now, helping to raise over $2.1 million. We are incredibly grateful for their continued support.”
