Gift Catalogue launches in memory of Nadine Keller-Wadden
Sydney, N.S. – The Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation and partner Colbourne Auto (Colbourne Chrysler and Colbourne Ford) are proud to launch the eighth annual Because You Care Gift Catalogue, in loving memory of Nadine Keller-Wadden (1976–2024).
Nadine was a volunteer and champion for many community causes, including her late daughter’s legacy, ‘Molly’s Mission.”
“We can’t change the past, but we can still change someone’s future,” says Jeff Wadden, Nadine’s husband and caretaker of Molly’s Mission. “It’s a privilege to give back and support this community that’s given so much to Nadine and our entire family.”
Gifts made to the Because You Care Catalogue helps patients on every floor of the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Donors can help fund things like medications and medical equipment not covered by insurance, travel to-and-from specialist appointments, comfort items, and more.
Thanks to a commitment of $100,000 over 5-years from Colbourne Auto, the first $20,000 in donations will be matched, doubling donor impact.
“We want to support the community that continues to support us,” says Grant Colbourne, General Manager of Colbourne Auto. “Health care impacts us all and giving back to our community in this way is our way of saying thank you.”
Since the initial launch in 2018, the Catalogue has helped to raise more than $303,000for more than 19 areas of care throughout the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
“Last year, our Foundation was able to aid more than 2,700 patients in need because of gifts like those made to the Catalogue,” says Caitlyn MacDonald, Manager of Philanthropy, Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation. “It is a true honour to publish this initiative in loving memory of Nadine, whose spirit of generosity and compassion are what the Catalogue is all about.”
