A Clear Path Forward

To ensure patients across Cape Breton Island have timely access to accurate diagnoses and the best possible care, here at home, the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation is raising $2.7 million to advance Diagnostic Imaging and Pathology at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH).

The Clear Path Forward campaign aims to:

  • Replace one of two CT scanners at the CBRH that has now reached its end of life, impacting up to 100 patients per day.
  • Bring a Leica Slide Scanner to the CBRH for the first time ever, allowing for real-time consultations and second opinions on thousands of tissue samples each year.
  • Improve turnaround times in pathology, such as reducing sepsis diagnoses from 48-72 hours to as little as 60 minutes, by purchasing key equipment and workstations.

When you support our Foundation and the advancement of Diagnostic Imaging and Pathology, you help to ensure our friends, families and neighbours receive timely answers, accurate diagnoses, and a clear path forward, when they need it most.
