EverWind team surpasses $1 million raised for Caleb’s Courage and Cape Breton’s little superheroes
Today, EverWind presented a record cheque of $262,174.33 in support of Caleb’s Courage at the annual Caleb’s Superhero Walk, Run, FLY at Petersfield Park.
EverWind’s contribution brings the total raised for Caleb’s Courage through the Fairways to Success Charity Golf Classic to $1,112,658.74 over seven years. The golf classic is a longstanding tradition of giving back led by EverWind’s terminal team.
“Every year, the EverWind team, event organizers, sponsors and golfers come together to support little superheroes and their families fighting big battles,” says Andrew Robson, Senior Vice President, Terminals, EverWind. “Their generosity has made the Fairways to Success Charity Golf Classic a lasting community tradition. We’re grateful to everyone who has helped carry it forward, and we’re honoured to celebrate this milestone with Caleb’s Courage and the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation.”

The milestone was celebrated alongside hundreds of families, friends and supporters who gathered Sunday for Caleb’s Superhero Walk, Run, FLY. This family-focused event, created in memory of three-year-old Caleb William MacArthur, celebrates the stories of local children with cancer while raising awareness and funds to support them and their families.
“When we created Caleb’s Courage, never did we imagine this magnitude of support and commitment from a superpower like EverWind,” says Nicole MacArthur-Forgeron, Caleb’s proud mom.
“They believe in our mission of ‘helping little superheroes fighting BIG battles’ as deeply as we do,” she continues. “We see this in their outstanding contributions year after year, and in the passion of the people who drive their compelling culture of giving. I am honoured to share that EverWind is the largest donor to Caleb’s Courage Legacy Fund. We couldn’t think of a more meaningful way to celebrate this momentous million-dollar milestone — surrounded by the stories and faces of the sweet superheroes we support, and the community who supports us. This is such a proud and profound moment for Caleb’s Courage and for our family. We are incredibly grateful for their valued partnership, friendship, and generosity. Together we are transforming lives for critically ill children in Cape Breton.”
Caleb’s annual Superhero Walk, Run, FLY is one of the ways his legacy continues to bring the community together. Held during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the event features a walk/run along the Trail of Heroes, showcasing the faces and stories of local little superheroes, followed by a celebration filled with family activities, entertainment and plenty of superhero spirit.
Through Caleb’s Courage, Caleb’s legacy of love, courage and hope continues to make a difference for little superheroes and their families across Cape Breton. Donors to Caleb’s Courage – a fund with the Cape Breton Reigonal Hospital Foundation – have helped to provide:
- direct patient support such as covering travel and accommodation costs for treatment and specialist appointments, medication, counselling and music therapy, and personal medical equipment like oxygen monitors and feeding tubes;
- in-hospital comfort items like custom quilts and hospital gowns featuring superheroes and fun characters;
- equipment for the Pediatrics Unit such as sleeper chairs, new automatic accessible entrance doors, and a vein finder;
- and much more.
