Mental Health & Addictions Patient Care Fund Receives $10,000 ‘For the Good of Community’ Grant
The Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation is one of two non-profit organizations in Cape Breton receiving the ‘For the Good of the Community’ grant from the Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation.
The Foundation will use the funding for its Mental Health & Addictions Patient Care fund, which helps cover costs for items such as prescriptions not covered by insurance, comfort items (i.e. winter clothing), travel for the purpose of healthcare, recreational therapy initiatives, dental work and other out-of-pocket expenses incurred while being treated and cared for by Mental Health and Addiction Services within the CBRH or associated community programs.
“Since its launch, this fund has provided prescriptions, musical instruments, gym passes, outdoor recreational sports equipment, dental work and more to Cape Breton patients in need,” said Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation CEO Paula MacNeil.
“We are grateful to receive $10,000 from the NSLC’s For the Good of Our Community Fund to continue to meet daily needs and requests and support people right here, at home.”
