Tim Hortons Smile Cookies gift $121,000 to Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation

Tim Hortons restaurant owners and millions of generous Tim Hortons guests helped support over 600 local charities and community groups across the country by raising $18.8M through this year’s Smile Cookie Campaign.

In Sydney and Port Hawkesbury, local Tim Hortons restaurant owners and guests helped raise $121,866, of which 100 per cent will go directly to supporting the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation. The funds will be used to renovate and refresh several rooms in the Pediatric Unit and Emergency Department at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, in partnership with Smilezone Foundation.

“We are grateful to local Tim Hortons restaurants for choosing the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation as the recipient of Smile Cookies proceeds once again, and to guests for their continued support of health care in Cape Breton,” said Caitlyn MacDonald, Manager of Philanthropy for the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation. “This year’s efforts were outstanding and will directly impact patient experience at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. We are beyond excited to partner with the Smilezone Foundation to transform spaces within the hospital to uplift those undergoing medical journeys.”

The Donation was celebrated Monday May 20 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital with a cheque presentation.
