Festival of the Greens Raises over $149,000 for Area of Greatest Need
On Saturday, November 20, the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation celebrated the 17th annual Festival of the Greens, presented by Cape Breton Beverages. The event raised $149, 578.36 in support of healthcare on the island.
This year, all funds raised support the Foundation’s Area of Greatest Need. The Area of Greatest Need fund allows the Foundation and medical experts and leaders to direct donations to the highest priority needs of healthcare in Cape Breton.
The gala took place at the Port of Sydney, and featured entertainment from (Emcee) Heather Rankin, Colin Grant and Mike Le lievre, and the Garbage Night Session Trio, featuring Jenn Sheppard, Stephen Muise and (filling in for Jordyn Crocker) LJ MacLean.
Cape Breton’s Alfie MacLeod was on-site to lead the event’s coveted live auction, which raised close to $50,000 and featured special guests Colin and Justin – the new owners of Point of View suites, interior designers, authors, celebrity interviewers and TV hosts, and all-around lifestyle gurus.
With the support of our community, Festival of the Greens has raised more than $2 million to-date.
